Best Gallery App Alternatives on Android
2015 · English · Article
In an October 2015 roundup of alternatives to the stock Android gallery, Team Android ranks Piktures third of five, after Cyanogen Gallery and QuickPic. The writer builds the entry around design, arguing that the interface matters a great deal in an app used to look at photos and videos. They credit developer Diune with treating the interface as a core part of the product. They describe Piktures as very beautiful and single out its colour palette and graphics as especially captivating. The rest of the entry lists features without assessing them: a fast interface, navigation by swiping and sliding, a calendar view that scrolls vertically for quick browsing, and a location view that filters by city. It also lists several sorting and grid choices, resizing pictures before sharing, hiding albums, a GIF player, shortcuts to camera apps, and support for large screens including tablets.
