These are 5 of my favorite gallery apps, but one stands out from the rest

In an August 2025 opinion piece, Android Authority's Andy Walker names their five favourite gallery apps, with Focus Go as their top recommendation and Piktures among the five. Walker presents Piktures as a capable gallery for reaching photos stored in cloud, network and local locations, naming Google Photos, OneDrive and Nextcloud among the supported platforms. Each can be accessed directly once connected. The feature they find most useful is direct access to a USB drive plugged into the phone, which they use to offload content when their camera's SD card fills up on hikes. The writer also points to Secret Space, which encrypts the images stored in it, for people who keep sensitive pictures on their phone. Beyond the features, they say the interface stands out, citing smooth animations, a heavy default typeface, a handy bottom navigation bar and large cards that are easy to tap. On pricing, the author notes that the free version shows ads and that two one-time purchases remove them.
