13 Best Google Photos Alternatives in 2026

2025 · English · Blog post

Piktures leads the mobile-only section of this list of Google Photos alternatives, where the writer, Irina Nikolaeva, describes it as an Android gallery with a user-friendly interface that handles pictures, videos and GIFs. Privacy is presented as a strength, with PIN protection and an encrypted vault for private photos. The article highlights links to Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive for managing cloud photos inside the app, and suggests that pairing Piktures with Google Drive could cost less than paying for Google Photos storage. It also mentions browsing by date, location and even colour. On the downside, it notes that Piktures has no cloud storage of its own, that some users report occasional slowness, that ads can be intrusive, and that it lacks duplicate detection, face recognition and search beyond basic tags and metadata. Pricing is given as a free version with ads and a single storage choice, with paid options from $2.53 that remove ads and add advanced features.
