7 photo gallery apps you should use instead of Samsung Gallery
2026-06-07 · English · Article
In this list of seven Samsung Gallery replacements, prompted by Samsung ending OneDrive sync, Piktures sits third, and the writer counts it among their favourite choices from outside the big platforms. The interface is described as capable yet simple to find your way around, organised in plain cards that the writer loosely compares to Microsoft's Metro design. Two features are singled out as missing from every other app on the list: support for USB drives, and connections to Google Photos, OneDrive, Nextcloud and a range of other cloud services, so that whichever storage a reader already uses is likely covered. The writer also points to the Secret Space, which keeps sensitive pictures apart behind encryption and gives more confidence about what could end up online. The main drawback raised is advertising, which could bother people used to Samsung Gallery's uncluttered experience, although a single one-time purchase removes it. Piktures is grouped with Google Photos and Amazon Photos as the main Android picks that include cloud syncing.
