AC Editors' Apps of the Week: Radiant Defense, Piktures, Straw and more
2014 · English · Article
In Android Central's weekly column of editors' app picks from late November 2014, Richard Devine chose Piktures. They pitch it at readers who have grown tired of the gallery app they have used for years. Devine credits two things above all: navigation built around gestures, and an appearance they rate very highly. Together, the writer says, they make looking through a photo library a pleasure. They stress that Piktures costs nothing and has no advertising. Beyond browsing by album, they single out a calendar view that lets people explore their pictures by when they were taken as well as by what they show. Devine then confirms that the usual gallery functions are there, naming full-screen video playback, setting a picture as wallpaper and photo editing. Their overall judgement is that Piktures is simply a more attractive way to browse photos, and they add that it also works well on tablets.
