Piktures

The best alternative photo gallery apps
2015 · English · Article
AndroidGuys includes Piktures in its January 2015 selection of favourite alternatives to the stock gallery. The writer praises its smooth, attractive design, which is built around gesture navigation. They explain that one swipe brings up the full album list and a swipe the other way opens filters that narrow down which photos appear. Two features are called out as unusual: images can be resized before sharing to save data, and a calendar view lays out when each photo was created as a timeline. The reviewer notes that, like QuickPic, Piktures puts image quality first. They add that a double-tap shows a photo full screen with no borders, and they credit the app with doing this beautifully. The entry is otherwise descriptive and gives no rating or download figures.
