Five alternative gallery apps to better manage your photos
2020 · English · Article
In a May 2020 Android Police roundup of seven alternative gallery apps, Piktures is the fourth entry. The writer is a longtime QuickPic user who had been looking for a replacement since that app disappeared. They describe Piktures as simple but capable. The entry notes that, like most apps in the list, it handles photo editing and video playback. The writer highlights that Piktures can reach photos stored in the cloud and show them in one place alongside local ones, which they find convenient for people who back up online. Among the more advanced tools, they mention a GIF maker and a secret space for hiding sensitive pictures. Finally, the writer considers the calendar and location views fairly unusual, and a good way to return to photos taken on a particular day or at a particular place.
