Getting started
Piktures needs Android 11 or later. Get it on Google Play.
Give access to your photos
The first time you open Piktures:
- Piktures needs access to your photos explains that the app needs your photos and videos to work. Tap NEXT.
- Android asks you to allow access to your photos and videos. Allow it.
If you refuse, the screen comes back with EXIT, which closes Piktures. Piktures asks again each time you open it. If Android no longer shows its request, give Piktures access to photos and videos in the phone's settings for apps.
3 days without ads
The first time you open Piktures, you get 3 days without ads, and Start Your Free Trial tells you so. The 3 days have already started: Start Free Trial closes the message.
The 3 days only remove the ads: the other paid features stay locked. The More tab shows how many days are left. After that, the free Basic plan shows a few ads, and Google may ask for your consent: see Ads and your consent. The plans are in In-app purchases.
The four tabs
- Storage: the phone, the Secret Space, a USB drive, your network drives and clouds, and ADD A NEW ACCESS to connect one. See How to add a cloud.
- Albums: the albums of the storage you opened, with your bookmarks, the special albums, your smart albums, and your groups. See The album organization.
- Photos: the photos and videos of the album you opened. Tap Photos again to open the album's ⋮ menu. See Album settings.
- More: your plan, Settings, Personalisation, Create, the How to videos, and About. See Settings reference.
Piktures opens on the Albums tab. The Photos tab first shows All, then the last album of the phone you opened. To open Piktures on Photos instead, turn off More → Personalisation → GENERAL → Start option.
To go from tab to tab by swiping, turn on Gesture to navigate left and right in the same place.
Permissions asked later
- Notifications, on Android 13 and later: Piktures asks when you first set up a backup, or copy photos to or from a cloud or a network drive. If you refuse, the backup or the copy still runs.
- Permission needed, on Android 12 and later: before you rename, move, rotate, or delete photos, Piktures may ask to manage your media. OK opens the Android setting that lets Piktures change and delete your photos without asking you each time.
After an update
The first time you open Piktures from its icon after an update, What's new shows what changed. To see it again: More → About → What's new. See What's new.
