Piktures uses your data connection for:

  • your clouds and network drives, when you browse them or copy photos to and from them;
  • automatic backup, with Premium or Prime;
  • the map in a photo's details, which comes from Google Maps. Place names come from Android's geocoding service, which may also use the network, depending on the phone;
  • ads, in the free Basic plan;
  • usage statistics and crash reports, sent through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics;
  • checking your plan with Google Play.

Keep backups on Wi-Fi

More → Settings → BACKUP → Data usage sets when automatic backup can run:

  • Wi-Fi only, the default;
  • Wi-Fi and mobile data, except when roaming.

This setting only applies to automatic backup. When you browse a cloud or copy photos yourself, Piktures uses whatever connection the phone has. See Back up and restore your photos.

Ads

The free Basic plan shows a few ads. Any paid plan removes them: see In-app purchases. When Google's consent form applies to you, you can change your choice in More → Settings → Privacy Settings → Ad Choices. See Ads and your consent.
