Recover your Secret Space

You can only recover your Secret Space from a PikBackup folder, made with Export secret files before Piktures was uninstalled. Without it, the photos are lost: Android erases the Secret Space with the app, and neither Android's backup nor Piktures keeps a copy.

Copying the old .Piktures folder no longer works: only a PikBackup export can be imported.

Recover it

1. Install Piktures, and put the PikBackup folder on the phone.
2. In the Storage tab, tap Secret Space, then ACTIVATE YOUR SECRET SPACE.
3. Create a new PIN code and a security question. Your old ones aren't in the backup.
4. Tap ⋮ at the top of the Albums tab, then Import secret files, then Next.
5. Choose the PikBackup folder itself and tap Use this folder.

Your photos and videos come back into the Secret box album. Create new albums if you want to sort them again.

If the backup was made with an old version of Piktures, the import may ask for the e-mail address you used then.
