Back up your Secret Space
The Secret Space is stored only on your phone, in Piktures' own storage. It isn't backed up online, and we can't restore it for you. When you uninstall Piktures, clear its data, or reset your phone, it's erased.
Export it regularly, and always before you uninstall Piktures or reset your phone.
Export your Secret Space
- In the Storage tab, tap Secret Space and enter your PIN.
- Tap ⋮ at the top of the Albums tab, then Export secret files.
- Tap Start the export.
- Choose a folder and tap Use this folder.
Piktures creates a PikBackup folder there, with all your secret photos and videos. Then copy this folder off the phone, for example to a computer.
PikBackup also contains the key that unscrambles the files: anyone who gets the folder can import it into Piktures and see your photos. Keep it somewhere safe.
Without a paid plan, an ad may show during the export, and it takes longer. Any paid plan removes both.
Import it back
- Put the PikBackup folder on the phone.
- Open the Secret Space. On a new phone or after a reinstall, set it up first: see The Secret Space.
- Tap ⋮ at the top of the Albums tab, then Import secret files, then Next.
- Choose the PikBackup folder itself, not the folder that contains it, and tap Use this folder.
All the photos and videos come back into the Secret box album: your secret albums aren't recreated. The files are copied, and PikBackup stays where it is. Only the files directly inside the folder are read, not those in its sub-folders.
If the backup was made with an old version of Piktures, the import may ask for the e-mail address you used then.
Export secret files and Import secret files are in the Secret Space menu, with its other options: see Secret Space options.
Why Piktures sends you here
After you move photos with Move to Secret, Piktures shows the message Don't forget to save your secret space regularly ! with a More details button, which opens this page.
