A+ Gallery and Piktures are both free Android galleries with ads, and both reach photos beyond the phone: A+ Gallery's listing names Facebook, Dropbox and Amazon Cloud Drive, Piktures connects to Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Koofr, Yandex Disk, Nextcloud, WebDAV servers and NAS drives. The differences are in the list of services, in where private photos go, and in what each app does with your data. Facts checked on 15 October 2026; tell us if an app changed.
What is the difference between Piktures and A+ Gallery?
A+ Gallery, by AtomicAdd Team, describes itself as "literally world's BEST photo gallery app": fast, with themes, a map view, search "by date, location and even image color" that works offline, albums across several SD cards, a "password locked secure vault", and online photos from "Facebook/Dropbox/Amazon Cloud Drive" that you can view, sync and back up. Its Play listing carries the "Contains ads" and "In-app purchases" labels and was updated on 4 June 2026.
Piktures, by Diune, is a gallery for the phone, the SD card and the places your photos already are: eight cloud and server types, shown as albums next to the phone's, with no account to create. It has a photo editor and a video editor, search by text, date, place, camera and tag, and the Secret Space behind a PIN. The free plan shows a few Google ads, which the one-time No ads purchase removes. See An Android gallery with no account and no server.

"Not mentioned" means the A+ Gallery listing and site name no such service; see Sources. Piktures' facts: How to add a cloud and the guides.
How does each app hide private photos?
A+ Gallery has a "password locked secure vault": the hidden photos and videos "won't be visible in the system gallery and all other apps", and only the password opens them. Its privacy policy adds a Secure Vault Backup, where the developer stores "backup of your private photos in the cloud" and says it keeps them "completely private".
Piktures has the Secret Space, behind a 4-digit PIN of its own, or the phone's biometric unlock. Files are renamed and scrambled so other apps can't open them: deliberately light protection, not encryption. It is stored only on the phone, never backed up online by Piktures, and erased when the app is uninstalled; you export it to a PikBackup folder to keep a copy, and nobody but you holds that copy. See Hide photos behind a PIN.
What does each app cost, and what does it send?
Both apps are free with ads. A+ Gallery's listing carries the "In-app purchases" label; its privacy policy says the app may collect anonymous usage information, with an opt-out in its settings, and that for ads it "may use the IP address and mobile advertising ID of your device" with Facebook, Google and MoPub as advertising partners.
Piktures shows a few Google ads in its free Basic plan and none in the first 3 days; No ads is a one-time purchase that removes them, Premium a one-time purchase and Prime a monthly subscription that also unlock more clouds and drives, automatic backup, USB drives and the Secret Space's extra options. The app sends usage statistics and crash reports through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, and asks Google whether your consent is needed before the ads start.
