Viewing a photo or video
Tap a photo or video in an album to open it full screen. In the QR Codes album, a tap opens the code's details instead. To close the viewer, tap the back arrow at the top left, or go back. For the controls of a video, see Video player.
Gestures
- Swipe left or right to see the next or previous item.
- Pinch to zoom. Double tap to zoom on a point, and double tap again to see the whole photo.
- Tap the photo to hide or show the buttons.
- Swipe up to open the details. You can turn this off in More → Personalisation → GENERAL → Gesture to display details.
The buttons
At the bottom, from left to right:
- the magic wand edits the item: see Photo editor. For a video, it opens the Video editor (MP4 videos on the phone);
- the trash can deletes it: see Deleting photos and the recycle bin;
- the star adds it to Favorites, or removes it;
- the share icon shares it: see Sharing options;
- the folder with an arrow moves it to another album.
In the Secret Space, on a cloud, on a network drive, or on a USB drive, only delete, share, and move are available. GIFs can't be edited.
At the top:
- the closed padlock locks the screen: the rotation is frozen, the buttons hide, and swiping and zooming are off. Tap the photo to show the open padlock at the top right, then tap it to unlock;
- the rotating phone switches between portrait and landscape. It appears when More → Personalisation → GENERAL → Screen orientation is off;
- ⋮ opens the details.
Under the top bar, Piktures shows the date the photo was taken and the city.
When you turn the phone sideways, the bottom bar goes away: delete, share, move, and the star move to the top bar, and Edit is in the details.
The details
Tap ⋮, or swipe up. The details open halfway, on the actions: drag them up to see everything.
- The file name and its folder. The pencil next to the name renames the file: see Renaming an item.
- The map and the address, when the photo has a location: see Search by place.
- The tags, for JPEG photos on the phone. Add tag adds your own: this needs Premium or Prime (also included in the former Plus plan). See Tag your photos.
- The camera, its settings, and the size and resolution of the file.
- The date taken, the Creation date, and the Modification date.
The actions depend on the item:
