Selecting large set of items
Start a selection
In an album of the Photos tab:
- tap the ✓ icon at the top;
- or long-press a photo;
- or long-press a photo and, without lifting your finger, slide across the others;
- or tap a date header, which selects all the photos under it.
Then tap photos to add them to the selection or remove them. Each selected photo shows its number in the selection, and the bar at the top shows how many are selected.
To select everything, tap ⋮, then Select all. Tap Unselect all to start over.
Select a day, a month, or a year
When Date separator is on in the album display, tap a header to select all the photos under it, and tap it again to unselect them. A header covers a day, a month, or a year depending on the number of columns: see Choosing the album display.
Preview a photo without leaving the selection
In a selection, each photo has a small expand icon in its bottom-right corner. Tap it to see the photo full screen, then go back to your selection.
To hide this icon, turn off More → Personalisation → GENERAL → Selection preview icon.
What you can do with the selection
On the phone, the bar at the top has four icons, then ⋮:
- the tag icon adds tags to the selected photos. Saving your own tags needs Premium or Prime (also included in the former Plus plan): see Tag your photos;
- the move icon moves the selection to another album or another drive: see Copy and move between drives;
- the share icon shares it;
- the delete icon deletes it.
⋮ also offers Move, Copy, Move to Secret (once the Secret Space is set up), Rename, Add to favorites, and Resize. Renaming several photos at once needs Premium or Prime: see Renaming an item.
On other storages, the choice is shorter:
- Secret Space: move, share, and delete; ⋮ → Move takes the photos out of the Secret Space, and Rename.
- Deleted items: delete; ⋮ → Restore.
- Cloud or network drive: move, share, and delete.
- USB drive: move and delete; ⋮ → Move and Copy.
