QR Code
Piktures has a built-in QR code scanner.
- In the Photos tab, tap ⋮ at the top right, then Scan QR Code.
- Point the camera at the code. Piktures reads it on its own: there's no button to press. On phones with a flash, the flash button at the top lights the code.
- The details of the code open.
Scan QR Code is also in the ⋮ menu of the QR Codes album and of the phone's folders. It isn't available in the Secret Space, or on a cloud, a network drive, or a USB drive. To close the scanner, tap ✕.
The details of a code
The screen shows the content of the code, its Code format, its Content Type, and its Scan date. The copy and share icons at the top copy or share the text shown.
Open acts on the content:
- a web address opens in your browser;
- a phone number opens the dialer;
- a text message or an e-mail opens your messaging or e-mail app, ready to send;
- a place opens Google Maps;
- a contact or a calendar event opens Android's screen to add it.
For a product code or an ISBN, the details are shown, but Open does nothing.
The QR Codes album
Each code you scan is saved as a photo in the QR Codes album. Tap it to see its details again. Only the codes scanned with Piktures go there: photos of QR codes you took with the camera aren't read.
Wi-Fi QR codes aren't supported: nothing is saved. Tap ✕ to close the scanner.
