Albums list display and folder view
Choose the display
In the Albums tab, tap the display icon at the top, to the left of ⋮. Album display opens:
- Classic shows wide cards with their cover, on 1 to 3 columns;
- Grid shows square cards, on 2 to 4 columns;
- List shows one album name per line, without covers.
Tap a display to choose it, then − or + to change the number of columns. Display item counters shows how many photos and videos each album holds. It's on by default.
There's no save button: your choice applies when you close the sheet. It applies to the Albums tab of every storage. The default display is Classic.
Sub-folder view
Check Sub-folder view in Album display to browse the phone's folders instead of its albums. It only works for the phone's storage, and it's free.
- The ALBUMS section becomes PHONE MEMORY, with the folders of the phone's internal storage, followed by SD CARD when the phone has one.
- Tap a folder that contains other folders to see them. The Parent tile goes back up one level.
- Tap a folder without other folders inside to open its photos in the Photos tab. When a folder has both other folders and photos, the small open button at the bottom right of its card opens its photos.
The BOOKMARKS and SMART ALBUMS sections stay above. The Group section is hidden while Sub-folder view is on: see Album groups.
Explorer
Explorer is a special album that browses the phone's whole folder tree, starting from the root of its storage. Opening it needs Premium or Prime (also included in the former Plus plan).
It opens in the Photos tab and shows the folders and the photos of the current folder together: tap a folder to go into it. When the phone has an SD card, Explorer first shows PHONE MEMORY and SD CARD. Its card in the Albums tab shows the storage used and the total space.
