Renaming an album

On the phone, an album is a folder. Renaming the album moves its photos and videos into a folder with the new name.

1. In the Albums tab, open the album.
2. Tap ⋮ at the top right, then Rename.
3. Type the new name and tap OK.
4. Android asks you to allow Piktures to change the album's files. Allow it.

The photos and videos move into a folder with the new name, next to the old one: Pictures/Holidays becomes Pictures/<new name>. Only photos and videos are moved.

Which albums can be renamed

Rename is offered for:

• the phone's albums inside the Pictures folder;
• smart albums, whose name is only stored in Piktures.

It isn't offered for the Camera and Download folders, other folders outside Pictures, special albums such as All or Favorites, or albums in the Secret Space, on a cloud, or on a USB drive.

To give another name to one of these albums, create a new album and move the photos into it.
